THE STATE OF THE WORLD’S WILDLIFE
OUR OWN DAVID ATTENBOROUGH – PROFESSOR NORMAN MACLEAN!!
Norman has been editing and partially writing a book of the same title over the past 2 years. His message is that we should all be concerned about the state of the world’s wildlife although it is probably too late to redress the damage it has suffered. He will try to give us an accurate vision of how the world’s wildlife is faring but also of how life began on our planet and how it evolved; how the present, so called, Holoscene extinction event is only one of many such extinctions. To balance the messages of doom he will emphasise the importance of present conservation efforts and how they are helping to bring species back from the brink.
We will be observing some social distancing and people are welcome to wear masks. But it will be good to see you again and to restart our programme with such an interesting talk. Looking forward to a good turn out!
